Why I Love Liforme SO Much

Hiya, friends! Today is all about my absolute favorite yoga mat brand, Liforme. If you’re not familiar, I’m going to try and answer as many questions as I can and just share why I love it so much! Hopefully this information can help you make an informed purchase so you’ll love your mat(s) for years to come.

First things first, Liforme is pronounced like “Life Form” - thought I’d get that out of the way ASAP since it’s a question I do get frequently. And yes, I do have an ongoing partnership with the company to offer you guys a discount! You can use code CHELSEASYOGA to save 10% off your entire purchase at checkout. A few times a year they also have combo savings where you can stack my discount code with another code from the brand to save even more. Black Friday is usually their biggest sale of the year so if you’re looking for a deal, I’d say that’s the best time to shop.

Alright, let’s dive into the thick of it, shall we? :)

Why I Love Liforme

  • Non-slip grip (I’ve never loved the grip on any other mat as much as this one)

  • Alignment System

  • Planet Friendly Biodegradable Non-Toxic

  • PVC-free

  • Comes with a yoga mat bag - even the cute mini Yoga Pad!

  • Liforme is always giving back! Charities include Friends of Earth, Black Lives Matter & NAACP, World Health Organization, Yoga Support Fund, Yoga Gives Back, GLAAD, and Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

How I Travel With My Mats - Other than my 300 hr teacher training where I brought my regular mat, I always travel with their travel mat + yoga pad. That way I have an extra cushion for my knees when I practice but I’m not carrying the weight of a full-sized mat. Often I will even fold my travel mat into my luggage so I don’t have to carry my mat in its bag onto the plane, otherwise carry on it is!

How I Clean My Mat - With a full house + a cat and dog, I always put my mats away after I practice. That way it helps to not have too much cat/dog hair and crumbs all over it, haha. I NEVER use essential oils or mat sprays - they’ve damaged mats in the past. I just use water and a towel to wipe it off or a drop of dish soap to help remove any stains. I have taken my mats into the shower if they get super grungy after photoshoots outside but it’s a quick rinse and then I let it fully dry out. FYI don’t leave your mat out in the sun - it’ll make any mat degrade happen more quickly and no one wants that!

How I Practice - When I am home, I always practice on my regular-sized mats. If I am doing a standalone handstand practice I mostly reach for my travel mat because I don’t want any cushion under my hands, and after a few handstands on my wood floor, my palms get too sweaty and slip without a mat. My knees still love a little extra cushion as well as my pubic bone in prone backbends so I often add the yoga pad in during this part of my practice. This is all really personal preference so just listen to what your body needs as you work your way through different poses and adjust accordingly.

My Favorite Colors: Orange Happiness Mat + Travel Mat is my go-to. Their new Blue Sky Rainbow Mat and Purple Earth mat (this one also donates 5% to Friends of the Earth) are very cool too, but you really can’t go wrong! Just pick your favorite color! :)

How Long do my Mats Last - It’s always hard to know this because everybody and practice are so different! It depends on if you take hot classes, how much you sweat, if you wear products, if you take it outside, how often you practice, etc., etc. For me, I would say I get about 2 years out of a mat but I also alternate them a bit too.

Tips: To avoid stains, avoid practicing with freshly applied oily creams or massage oils. You can also shop Liforme’s bundles and save on multiple mats.
