My Peloton Routine, What Rides I Like, Instructors to Check Out + More
I've been wanting to share more about my Peloton and my experience with it so far for a while, especially after writing about why I'm incorporating more movement into my routine outside of yoga. So today's allll about the bike! If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a DM or leave me a comment here!
I bought my Peloton bike in June (’21) and have been obsessed ever since. I started by aiming for a few rides per week but am now consistently riding 4-5x/week. I spend most of my time in the 20-minute classes but have done shorter ones where we focus on climbs or longer rides that completely whoop my butt.
I’ve never been a cardio person but for some reason this hits different. The teachers are amazing and it feels like it's completely mine. There’s also a magic that comes from riding at home. I roll out of bed at 5:00 am Tuesday - Friday and clip-in. It feels really amazing to wake up and get that time in before the rest of the house wakes up.
My favorite instructors so far are:
Alex Toussaint - I go to him when I want to get my tush kicked. His “Bangers” rides are insane!
Ally Love - Her energy, her spirit, her push, her smile... she’s just all-around a really solid human! Her “Broadway” ride is still a fave.
Robin Arzón - Inspiring. Inspiring. Inspiring. I’ve cried many times on her rides and love everything she embodies.
Tunde Oyeneyin - Her playlists and the fact that she pushes herself to the edge with you. This woman is mad inspiring. She was the very first instructor I ever tried and I’ve been hooked on her since day one.
My favorite style of rides:
10-15 Minute Climbs
Alex’s ‘Club Bangers’ Rides
Any Hip Hop Ride
Tabata Rides (if I want to work hard)
And ALL Broadway Rides 😋
I have yet to retake a class because there is so much variety. So happy I followed my gut and bought this bike. If you're debating it, I absolutely encourage you to do it! I will say, I 100% have to spend more time stretching but actually love how it has changed my yoga practice! I know it can feel a bit scary to "move away" from the mat for your movement when you've been so constantly devoted to it, but I'm telling you, if anything, it's made me even more excited about yoga! A definite favorite purchase of 2021!
