Everything Cold Plunge

We’ve officially had our Cold Plunge for a year and a half and it’s still one of my favorite additions! I took some time away from plunging after we had Leo (hard to be so frozen with a baby on me 24/7) but I’m back to it! My journey to cold therapy exposure started with a cryotherapy appointment I had back in 2018. I was shocked by how much I loved it! I couldn’t afford to make it a regular part of my routine so it was a one and done session. Years later, I even started talking daily cold showers and I jumped on the train. I started sharing all of the benefits I found with showers on IG around the same time that PLUNGE developed a tub that had a filtration system and was meant for home use! I know many people that fill up their baths with cold water an ice or make their own horse trough outdoor plunges but to have a setup that regulated the temp and keeps it clean was genius! Right out the gate I started with three minutes but kept my hands out. Over time I started bringing them into the water and sitting low enough that my neck was in too. Kevin worked his way from three minutes to four (sometimes five) and he always dunks at least once. I’ve yet to dunk, hahah, usually it’s because it’s not a hair washing day or I don’t plan to shower right after. My favorite plunge routine is hot tub, plunge, workout, then get ready for the day.

7. Improves Mood and Mental Health: The dopamine and endorphin hit you get is incredible and it’s a slow drip release which stick with you all day. Like I said, starting the day feeling really proud of accomplishing something hard is a pretty amazing way to kickstart your day. 

8. Better Quality Sleep: Relieves stress, improves mood, and may even help set your circadian rhythm.
